I've had countless conversations about transit over the past couple of months, but some of the most interesting have been with parents and young adults.I've met parents who are regularly driving their college and university-aged children to school and work because they don't feel they can rely on transit. I've met young adults working hard to save for their first vehicle. And I've met transit riders who already have one eye on the exit as soon as they can afford another option. Those conversations got me thinking: What happens if we lose the next generation of transit riders? Please have a read and let me know your thoughts.votechelsea.com/what-happens-if-we-lose-the-next-generation-of-transit-riders/ ... One of the things I’ve come to appreciate through my years working in municipal government is just how complex City Hall really is.The City of Ottawa manages a multi-billion dollar budget, employs more than 17,000 people, delivers hundreds of services, and relies on dozens of master plans, strategies, and long-range financial plans to guide decisions.Residents often see the final decision. What they don’t always see is the work that happens behind the scenes to move an issue forward, secure funding, navigate processes, build support, and get results.Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in two City Councillor offices, including right here in Stittsville. I’ve also worked in operational, policy, program development, and project management roles within the City of Ottawa. Those experiences have given me a strong understanding of how City Hall works, who is responsible for what, and how to effectively advocate for residents and community priorities.I believe experience matters. Not because one person has all the answers, but because understanding how to navigate the system helps turn good ideas into real action. If elected, I’ll bring that experience to the table from day one, along with a commitment to listen, collaborate, and work hard on behalf of our community. 💜 #KeepStittsvilleAwesome #Ward6 #VoteChelsea #ChelseaWaltonForStittsville ... The weather for canvassing this week has been all over the map, from extreme heat to heavy rain, and just about everything in between.A huge thank you to the volunteers who have been willing to brave the elements and join me at the doors. Your support means so much. And thank you to the neighbours who continue to make time to chat, share ideas, talk about what matters most in Stittsville, and of course, introduce me to some pretty wonderful pups along the way (including Gordon!).Every conversation helps me better understand the priorities, challenges, and opportunities facing our community. I’m grateful for every doorstep conversation, rain or shine. ... See MoreSee Less

Today I joined Envirocentre for a “Discover Your Ward by Bike” tour and spent the afternoon cycling around Stittsville. We explored different neighbourhoods, talked about gaps in our cycling network, and checked out some of the newer projects that have done a better job of incorporating cycling infrastructure from the start.I also joined Team Stittsville for Let's Bike Ottawa and tracked my ride along the way. The program tracks kilometres travelled, fuel costs saved, and greenhouse gas emissions avoided - a great reminder that small choices can have a positive impact!Whether you get around by bike, bus, car, or on foot, thoughtful transportation planning helps make our community safer, more connected, and more accessible for everyone.🚲 Do you bike in Stittsville? I’d love to hear about your favourite routes and the places where you think we can do better! #Stittsville #Cycling #TeamStittsville ... See MoreSee Less

Asking for help isn’t easy, but local political campaigns require resources to reach residents across our community. We’re building momentum. We’re having important conversations at the door and connecting with neighbours across Stittsville every day. To keep that momentum going, we need financial support to fund lawn signs, printed materials, digital outreach and community events. If you’re able, please consider making a donation to the campaign. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.I’ve enrolled in the City of Ottawa’s contribution rebate program, which means eligible donations over $25 qualify for a rebate.I’ve also made a commitment not to accept donations from developers because I believe residents deserve confidence that decisions at City Hall are made in the best interests of the community.Thank you for your support. 💜 #stittsville #votechelsea #keepstittsvilleawesome #chelseawalton ... I had a great time at the Stittsville Muslim Association bazaar this past weekend. I left with delicious treats, tea served by powerhouse entrepreneurs Bitty Cake and Cafe and even some fresh henna ink! Thank you to everyone who organized this fantastic event and welcomed visitors so warmly. Stittsville is a richer, more vibrant community because of the many cultures, traditions, and neighbours who call it home. 💜 ... See MoreSee Less
