Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time knocking on doors and listening to residents. Those conversations have helped shape my understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our community.
Now, I’d like to do the same with our local business community.
After celebrating our wedding this past weekend, I’ve been reflecting on how many incredible local businesses helped make the day so special. From the venue and photographer to the food, music, flowers, and countless other details, we experienced firsthand the passion, creativity, and hard work that local businesses bring to our community every day.
But local businesses are about much more than the products and services they provide. They’re our neighbours. They create jobs, support community events, sponsor local sports teams, donate to fundraisers, and help make Stittsville the vibrant community we all enjoy.
As I continue developing my platform, I want to better understand the experience of doing business here. What’s working well? What challenges are you facing? Where can the City be a better partner? If you’re a local Stittsville business, I’d love to hear from you. I’ve created a short survey that takes about five minutes to complete. Your feedback will help identify common themes, identify future policy ideas, and shape a Business Roundtable later this summer.Take the Survey Here
I’d also appreciate it if you shared the survey with other local business owners. The more perspectives we hear, the better informed the conversation will be.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences. I look forward to learning from you and continuing the conversation.
